Are you Etsy sellers ready for the Holidays??

2 weeks ago I saw my first Christmas commercial on TV.

The middle of September.

A Christmas commercial.  (It was Macy's, BTW.)

Back in the day when I was working as a professional musician, I detested reminders of the holidays anytime before Thanksgiving. If I saw a TV commercial before Thanksgiving I would rant at the TV! Not these days. As an online seller of handmade goods, I have to be thinking about the December Holidays long before Thanksgiving.

I subscribe to the Etsy "SUCCESS" Newsletter and last week’s was perfect timing for me! I’ve been focusing on getting my shops ready for the Holidays, and am making decisions about all the little details that will make make the Holidays not only financially productive, but as stress free as possible for me. Getting my shop ready for the Holidays is always my biggest business plan of the year, and I usually start making things and gearing up for it, no later than July.

Etsy's DanielleXO has started the Etsy SUCCESS Holiday Boot Camp to shape us all up, and get us quickly prepped and ready for the busiest time of the year for most of us.

If you need a "boot" in the behind to get you ready for Holiday Sales, I highly recommend that you take the pledge, and join DanelleXO and the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp! Stop by the BOOTCAMP facebook page and "like" it, then post the following PLEDGE:

I, ______________, pledge to participate in the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp to the best of my abilities. I vow to check in every week, do my homework and support my fellow Holiday Boot Campers. I will read the weekly newsletters and blog posts, check in on the weekly forum thread, read the weekly blog post, check off the checklists and salute the mascot. I promise to share what I've learned with those who need it, support my fellow Etsy indiepreneurs and, most of all, have a positive and persistent attitude. I understand that together we can spread the word about our handmade and vintage goods, making this holiday season a more unique and meaningful one to gift givers and give-ees everywhere!

What are you waiting for???

I'm getting ready too - thinking about shipping supplies.

I've already ordered holiday charms for earrings, bracelets and wine charms to dress up wine glasses.

Cheers,
Linda
