Are you Etsy sellers ready for the Holidays??

2 weeks ago I saw my first Christmas commercial on TV.

The middle of September.

A Christmas commercial.  (It was Macy's, BTW.)

Back in the day when I was working as a professional musician, I detested reminders of the holidays anytime before Thanksgiving. If I saw a TV commercial before Thanksgiving I would rant at the TV! Not these days. As an online seller of handmade goods, I have to be thinking about the December Holidays long before Thanksgiving.

I subscribe to the Etsy "SUCCESS" Newsletter and last week’s was perfect timing for me! I’ve been focusing on getting my shops ready for the Holidays, and am making decisions about all the little details that will make make the Holidays not only financially productive, but as stress free as possible for me. Getting my shop ready for the Holidays is always my biggest business plan of the year, and I usually start making things and gearing up for it, no later than July.

Etsy's DanielleXO has started the Etsy SUCCESS Holiday Boot Camp to shape us all up, and get us quickly prepped and ready for the busiest time of the year for most of us.

If you need a "boot" in the behind to get you ready for Holiday Sales, I highly recommend that you take the pledge, and join DanelleXO and the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp! Stop by the BOOTCAMP facebook page and "like" it, then post the following PLEDGE:

I, ______________, pledge to participate in the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp to the best of my abilities. I vow to check in every week, do my homework and support my fellow Holiday Boot Campers. I will read the weekly newsletters and blog posts, check in on the weekly forum thread, read the weekly blog post, check off the checklists and salute the mascot. I promise to share what I've learned with those who need it, support my fellow Etsy indiepreneurs and, most of all, have a positive and persistent attitude. I understand that together we can spread the word about our handmade and vintage goods, making this holiday season a more unique and meaningful one to gift givers and give-ees everywhere!

What are you waiting for???

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!!!

Hi my name is Sandie and I'm a football-a-holic. Yeah, I'm one of those crazy women who loves football even more than her husband does. I also raised a major football junkie daughter as well.

It was really hard not to be a serious football fan growing up in Denver. Denver loves it's football, and it's Broncos. I have such fond memories of crisp autumn Sundays at Mile High Stadium, cheering on John Elway and Broncos!!  I can also remember some Sundays with blizzard like conditions, and yup we were there at Mile High stadium, fortified with "hot buttered rum" and cheering on our team. Bronco fans are like that.  We're die hard.

Not living in Denver any more, I miss being able to go to the games in person, but I never miss a televised Broncos game.  I still love my home team!

And if there are any ladies out there who love football as much as my daughter and I do, I've got the perfect handbag for you!  Check out my Super Big Tote bag, and matching Cosmetics Pouch, in your favorite NFL team fabric.  Obviously I made this one in Bronco colors for my daughter, Rachael, but you can choose your favorite team and have the perfect big, sturdy bag to tote with you to your team games!  These bags are super sturdy (2 layers of ultra heavy interfacing), hold a lot of goodies, and have some wonderful pockets to help you organize.  Rachael and I both carry 2 of the little zipper pouches in our tote bags to help keep them neat and organized.  I can also make the tote bags and pouches in most major College and University fabrics, as well as MLB (major league baseball) team fabrics, so there is a fabulous bag for every woman sports fan in your family!!  Just send me a message through my Etsy shop, KnitzyBlonde if you have questions or want to place an order.

Now, if you'll excuse me, the football game is about to start.  ;o)
