Red White and Boom Giveaway from the Carried Away Team (CABT)

Carried Away (the Etsy Bag Making Team) is hosting a nail polish and pouch giveaway. You could win three bottles of BB Couture nail polish in Pearl Delight, Hot Salsa and Prince Charming, your choice of five pouches from team member April's Originals or SolSisters' Nichelle Zipper wristlet featuring original cat art and hand marbled fabric.

Give us a little boost to spread the word about our team's efforts to support our adopted marine during her deployment through non-profit Herobox. All of the proceeds from our Freedom Bags listed in our team shop will go to fill and send a monthly herobox to her with items she has requested and other goodies for her to share with her unit of 32 troopers.

No matter what you think of the current conflicts, we can all agree that these men and women need to know that the folks here at home care about them and appreciate their choice to serve. This is our way of giving that support and we hope you'll join us.

Wander on over to the Carried Away team blog for details on how to win!

Sweet little premie hats.

I just finished a custom order for two tiny little hats that are for premature babies. A customer of mine has a little one in the NICU, and ordered the Flower Garden hat for her little girl and ordered the Sweet Striped Beanie for the little boy next to her. The customer told me that the little ones are not allowed to wear any clothing except hats, so she wanted her daughter to have a very cute hat.

It was such a treat to knit such tiny little hats and imagine the little heads that they will keep warm. Just so you can see the difference in size - check the pictures here. The larger hats are both 3-6 mos size, and next to them are the premie sized hats that I just finished.

If you know of someone who needs custom sized baby knits - be sure to drop me a line thru my Etsy Shop, KnitzyBlonde, I am happy to work with someone on custom orders. Especially little premie things!

Have a good weekend!

Twitter and I are friends again...

It appears that Twitter has fixed it's glitch (spam cloud) of the moment, and I'm back in business, twittering away with all of you. :o)

What did we do before Twitter??

My Twitter Account Flew the Coop!!

A few hour ago I logged on to check my various online social networks, only to see the following my on Twitter page.

Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather! (pun sort of intended) And, after some research it appears that there are quite a few people that are presently experiencing the same problem. I found the following info on the Tweetlater.com site

"Twitter Account Suspensions

Sunday, July 5th, 2009: A lot of people with legitimate Twitter accounts are currently suffering from having their accounts suspended (late Sunday afternoon).

It is not TweetLater's doing or fault. So, please do not submit a TweetLater support request about it.

We just heard back from Twitter via email, and they said : "Spamcloud hit. We're working on restoring accounts."

We just need to be patient. The suspended accounts will be restored.

Update: We have no idea exactly what a "spam cloud" means. It is probably Twitter staff lingo for a massive spam attack.

Update: We have seen during previous spam attacks that Twitter tends to shoot first and ask questions later and indiscriminately lay down carpet bombing when their system comes under a spam attack. A lot of innocent-bystander accounts get massacred in the process, which they then have to restore afterwards. This is most likely what has happened again."

I reported the problem to Twitter. We;ll how fast they get this straightened out. Hopefully we will all be back tweeting on Monday. Cross your beaks, er feathers, er whatever. :o)

Happy 4th of July!

It's a glorious Independence Day here in sunny Southern California. It's 78 degrees, and the breeze off the ocean is heavenly. This is Moonlight Beach - our hangout. Now you can see why we love living near the beach. You just can't beat the view!!

Our grandson Charlie is marching in a parade today celebrating the 4th in Ohio (being the fabulous drummer that he is). :o) Guy and I will barbeque burgers and corn on the cob this evening and watch the fireworks at the beach. And how much more American can you get than that?!! Opps, I need to put my apple pie in the oven. ;o)

Don't forget I'm offering free shipping in both Etsy shops, Knitzy Blonde, and Zaftig Delights that will end on midnight, July 6th. If you've been eyeing something, snatch it up quick and save a few dollars on shipping.

Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July, and remember the reason for the celebration!
